About

Also known as: (02) Plastilina Mosh

Plastilina Mosh built their reputation on gloriously chaotic genre collisions: rap, dance, rock, and whatever else felt right, often within the same song and sometimes in multiple languages at once. The Monterrey duo, Jonás González and Alejandro Rosso, burst onto the scene in 1997 with the single Niño Bomba, which sold 5,000 copies independently and got American MTV spinning their video, making them one of the first rock en español acts to pull off that crossover. Their 1998 debut album Aquamosh, recorded across Los Angeles, Mexico City and Arcata with producers including the Dust Brothers and Tom Rothrock, became Record of the Year in Mexico and shifted 150,000 copies. The lead single Mr. P. Mosh hit number one on Latin MTV. Since then they have put out four more studio records, contributed to FIFA game soundtracks, and performed a remix of With Love alongside Hilary Duff at Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica 2007. They are part of the Avanzada Regia movement, the wave of alternative acts that put Monterrey on the map.
