About
Also known as: Peter Ford
Formed in Mexico City in 1995, Molotov built their reputation on a combustible mix of rap, hard rock and rock en español, delivered in Spanish with lyrics that pull no punches on politics, sex and government corruption. Their 1997 debut, ¿Dónde Jugarán las Niñas?, was controversial enough that some stores refused to stock it, yet it went on to sell over a million copies worldwide. The band is made up of Tito Fuentes, Mickey Huidobro, Paco Ayala and Randy Ebright, the latter being the only American born member. Their 2003 album Dance and Dense Denso produced "Frijolero," the band's biggest hit and their first Latin Grammy winner. The follow up Con Todo Respeto, a covers record featuring reworkings of The Misfits, Beastie Boys and ZZ Top among others, earned them a Latin Grammy for Best Rock Album. The 2007 release Eternamiente, a four part project where each member contributed their own individually written and produced section, brought them a third Latin Grammy. Throughout their career Molotov have balanced sharp political commentary with a genuinely playful, irreverent streak that keeps their fanbase fiercely loyal.
