About
Pomplamoose built their following the honest way: what you see is what you hear. The California duo, Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn, coined the term "VideoSong" for their YouTube clips, where every sound you hear must appear on screen at some point and nothing is faked. That transparent, lo fi intimacy helped them rack up over 640 million views and shift around 100,000 songs online in 2009 alone. Their name, by the way, is a deliberate misspelling of the French word for grapefruit. Beyond their own originals, Pomplamoose have a knack for making covers feel genuinely new. Their version of "Mr. Sandman" landed in a Toyota ad, Hyundai tapped them for a whole Christmas campaign, and songwriter Allee Willis liked their "September" cover so much she wrote them an original track. With albums spanning from their self titled debut through to Photogénique in 2025, they have kept their sound roaming across indie pop, jazz and rock without ever losing that handmade feel.
