About
Also known as: Benjamin Fernando Barajas Lasky, Benjamin Lasky, QuadecaX8
Quadeca started out as a YouTuber, but he's now one of the more talked about names in experimental rap and art pop. The turning point was I Didn't Mean to Haunt You, a self produced concept album where he plays a ghost reckoning with his own suicide while his loved ones move on. It features Danny Brown and the Sunday Service Choir, and critics, including Anthony Fantano, rated it highly. It came with its own film too. He's kept building from there. The Scrapyard series, which began as EPs of leftover tracks, ended up as a mixtape that Fantano scored 9 out of 10, and KTLA ranked it among the best albums of 2024. His fourth album, Vanisher, Horizon Scraper, arrived in July 2025 with a full length film that he wrote and directed himself, plus guests like Danny Brown, Maruja and Olēka. Expect big ideas and a very hands on approach.
