Over 30 million records sold and more than 80 gold and platinum awards tell you something about Scooter's reach, but the numbers don't quite capture how relentlessly the Hamburg outfit has pushed rave and techno into the mainstream since 1993. Built around the unmistakable MC style of H. P. Baxxter, the group turned early tracks like "Hyper Hyper" and "Move Your Ass" into massive continental hits, with tempos originally sitting between 160 and 190 BPM before they shifted gears around 1996. "How Much Is the Fish?" remains one of their most recognisable moments, and "Ramp! (The Logical Song)" broke them big in the UK. Scooter's lineup has shifted over the decades, but the energy hasn't. Recent collaborations with Timmy Trumpet and Harris and Ford show the band still very much in their element, dropping hard rave tracks that sit comfortably alongside their classic catalogue. The current lineup of Baxxter, Marc Blou, Jay Frog and manager Jens Thele has been in place since late 2022.
