About
Sekou's deep, bottom heavy baritone is pretty hard to miss, and it's what got the Leicestershire singer signed to Good Soldier Records at just 16 after clips of him singing circulated on TikTok and SoundCloud. From there things moved fast. He performed at Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz's wedding, got handpicked by Arlo Parks to play the BBC Music Introducing tent at Glastonbury 2022, and then went on to support John Legend on tour that same year. His debut EP Out of Mind arrived in 2023, co written with collaborators including Dixson and Theron Thomas, and featuring singles like "Better Man" and "Time Will Tell". That year also brought a performance on Later with Jools Holland and a soundtrack moment on Love Island. He was nominated for the Brit Award for Rising Star at the 2024 BRIT Awards, and later sang the theme for Steven Knight's BBC One drama This Town. He has since returned to Later with Jools Holland, performing "Dangerous Lover" and "Catching Bodies".
