About
Also known as: Stella Katherine Cole
Judy Garland is a major touchstone for Stella Cole, and you can hear it in every note she sings. The Illinois born, New York based vocalist built her reputation on jazz standards and Great American Songbook material, first catching serious attention during the pandemic when a TikTok clip of "Over the Rainbow" went viral and racked up a massive following. From there she moved quickly into the New York jazz circuit, performing at Birdland, Dizzy's Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the Café Carlyle. Her 2023 debut album, produced by Matt Pierson with arrangements by Grammy winner Alan Broadbent, mixes well known standards with lesser heard gems. That same year her Postmodern Jukebox cover of Miley Cyrus's "Flowers" pulled in over 6 million views, showing she can make almost anything feel like it belongs in 1955. She has since released the albums Snow! and It's Magic, and her live album from the Café Carlyle rounds out a catalogue that keeps growing.
