About
Few punk bands carry the weight of a working class city quite like The Menzingers carry Scranton. The four piece built their reputation on raw, emotionally direct songwriting that sits somewhere between punk rock urgency and the kind of heartland storytelling you'd expect from a much older band. Their 2012 Epitaph debut On the Impossible Past is the record fans and critics keep coming back to, landing Album of the Year at both Absolutepunk.net and Punknews.org and earning a cover from The Bouncing Souls on a split 7 inch a year later. Since then they've kept a steady pace, with After the Party in 2017 cementing their knack for anthemic, introspective punk, and Hello Exile in 2019 showing a more road worn, reflective side. They even turned Hello Exile inside out with From Exile, an acoustic reimagining recorded remotely during the pandemic. Their eighth album Everything I Ever Saw arrived in July 2026, keeping the streak going for a band that clearly has no interest in slowing down.
