Milan's The Watch have built their reputation on keeping the spirit of classic Genesis alive, and they do it with serious conviction. Formed in 1997 under the name The Night Watch, the band settled into their identity as a neo progressive rock act deeply rooted in the textured, melodic sound of 1970s Genesis. Frontman and primary songwriter Simone Rossetti has been the one constant through numerous lineup shifts over the decades, steering the band through eight studio albums including Ghost, Primitive, and Seven. Live performance has always been central to what The Watch do, and their catalog of official and fan released live recordings backs that up. Their 2021 studio album The Art Of Bleeding is their most recent full length, and they have kept busy with studio sessions and live videos covering Genesis classics like Firth Of Fifth and The Musical Box, sometimes bringing in guests like John Hackett to flesh out the sound.
