About

Thomas Azier has spent years building a quietly distinctive corner of European electropop, blending synth driven atmospheres with a restless creative energy that refuses to stay in one place. The Dutch musician, originally from Leiderdorp, made his name with the 2014 debut album Hylas, a project five years in the making that charted in the Netherlands, France and Belgium. He co wrote and produced tracks on Stromae's massive Racine Carrée album, then opened shows for Stromae and Woodkid, picking up serious momentum along the way. His catalogue since then covers a lot of ground: the radio friendly Rouge, the laptop recorded in hotel rooms Stray, the pandemic era instrumental piece A Collection Of Broken Ideas, and the 2023 album The Inventory Of Our Desire, which OOR Magazine called a beautiful album from a musician who is developing interestingly. His track Love, Disorderly found an unexpected second life in Antoine Fuqua's film The Equalizer 3, for which he also co wrote and performed Nine Seconds. He has increasingly worked with the Noordpool Orchestra, giving his studio work a rich live dimension.
