Willow has a knack for reinvention. Where her earlier work drew comparisons to Tori Amos and Alanis Morissette for its nineties alternative feel, she pivoted sharply on her self titled album, trading that sound for something far more spacey and psychedelic. The record blends psych folk, psych soul, and dreamy R&B into something genuinely hard to pin down, and she wrote and produced every bit of it alongside collaborator Tyler Cole. Released through MSFTS Music and Roc Nation, the album carries themes of female empowerment, complicated relationships, and a sense of not quite belonging to your own era. Her brother Jaden shows up for a feature, keeping things in the family. It's a confident, self directed body of work from an artist clearly comfortable charting her own course.
