During the third night of his 30 night residency at Madison Square Garden, Harry Styles made a humorous reference to the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

On Saturday, August 29, Harry Styles struck a playful note during the third evening of his impressive residency at Madison Square Garden in New York. Near the end of his show, he got the crowd going with the words: "We're at Madison Square Garden, home of the world champion New York Knicks!", immediately followed by: "And they also do weddings." The reference to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, which took place at that same arena on July 3, was met with loud cheers from the audience.
Styles and Swift had a brief relationship from November 2012 to January 2013. Their romance is widely regarded as the inspiration behind Swift's 2014 hit "Style." According to earlier reports, Styles also received an invitation to the wedding but was unable to attend as he was performing that same evening in London as part of his own tour. His fiancée Zoë Kravitz did attend the ceremony. Notably, on that same evening of July 3, during his Wembley show, Styles chose to perform his 2017 track "Two Ghosts," long considered his musical response to "Style," featuring the lines "Same lips red, same eyes blue / Same white shirt, couple more tattoos."
The opening night of the residency on August 26 already carried considerable emotional weight. Styles completely overhauled his usual setlist, a striking move after 33 nearly identical shows earlier in the tour, and took a moment to acknowledge the passing of Dolly Parton, who had died the day before. "I just wanna give a proper thank you to all the musicians who have inspired me over the years," he said. "Dolly, we love you. Thank you so much." Her 1974 recording of "I Will Always Love You" then filled the arena as the crowd sang along. Among those in attendance on opening night were Zoë Kravitz, Gayle King, and Drew Barrymore.
The 30 evenings at Madison Square Garden make up the entirety of Styles' US tour dates for 2026 and run through October 31, when he wraps up the series with a so called Harryween show. Shows in Melbourne and Sydney are then scheduled for December. The tour, named "Together, Together," is built around his fourth solo album "Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally," which came out in March. Demand for tickets was enormous: during the presale in January, no fewer than 11.5 million people registered their interest, a record according to Ticketmaster. It is also his first major live activity since 2023.
For Dutch music fans, the tour is no stranger. Tourspider readers will remember that the "Together, Together" tour passed through Amsterdam earlier this year, with NME giving the show five stars and describing it as "a hopeful celebration of community and connection." Styles also previously played a record breaking run of twelve nights at Wembley Stadium in London, for which he was officially recognised by Guinness World Records. Support throughout the tour has come from artists including Robyn, Shania Twain, Jamie xx, Jorja Smith, Fousheé, Fcukers, and Skye Newman.
