About
Alberta Cross built their reputation the hard way, spending years on the road with heavyweights like Oasis, Neil Young, Them Crooked Vultures and Mumford and Sons, playing festivals from Coachella to Glastonbury to Fuji Rock. The Anglo Swedish rock band was founded in London by singer and guitarist Petter Ericson Stakee and bassist Terry Wolfers, who recorded their early demos together in a home studio in East London before signing to Fiction Records and Geffen. Their debut album Broken Side of Time, recorded in Austin, Texas with producer Mike McCarthy, leaned dark and urgent. The follow up Songs of Patience softened the edges a little, with Stakee describing it as warmer and more colourful than its predecessor. After Wolfers departed in 2013, Stakee kept the name going as a fluid project, with the Facebook page summing it up neatly as "Petter Ericson Stakee and friends."
