About
Brother and sister duo Angus and Julia Stone built their sound around warm vocal harmonies, acoustic arrangements, and a knack for songs that sit somewhere between folk intimacy and indie pop ease. Hailing from Sydney, they started playing together in 2006 and quickly caught attention beyond Australia, landing studio sessions with Fran Healy of Travis and recording in the UK before their debut album A Book Like This even arrived in 2007. Their 2010 album Down the Way was a landmark moment, sweeping five ARIA Awards including Album of the Year and Single of the Year for the irresistible "Big Jet Plane". Since then they have kept adding to a catalogue that now spans five studio albums and a soundtrack, the most recent being Cape Forestier in 2024. The two have distinctive voices that critics have compared to everyone from Paul Simon to Björk, and together they create something that is hard to pin down but very easy to listen to.
