Few DJs have shaped trance music the way Armin van Buuren has. His weekly radio show A State of Trance, running since 2001, reaches nearly 40 million listeners across 84 countries, and it is largely responsible for building a global appetite for the genre. He has topped the DJ Mag Top 100 list five times, including four years in a row, a record no one else has matched. In the United States he holds the record for most entries on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart, with 21 appearances. His single "This Is What It Feels Like" featuring Trevor Guthrie earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording in 2014, making him only the fourth trance artist ever to land that recognition. The A State of Trance brand has grown well beyond radio, with van Buuren hosting massive live events under the ASOT name around the world.
