About
Also known as: Miss Bee Spoiled
Beatrice van der Poel is an Amsterdam singer who moves between her own original material and Dutch translations of songs by artists like Jacques Brel, John Cale, Bonnie Raitt, Jimi Hendrix and Leonard Cohen. Her voice has drawn comparisons to a soulful, sensual rock sound, and critics have placed her among the top performers in the Netherlands. She has released six albums and built a substantial career on the theatre concert circuit. Her album Na de Stilte collects original songs shaped by a mood of cheerful melancholy, lyrical melodies and poetic reflections on love, life and death. She recorded it in collaboration with guitarist and producer Tim Eijmaal, known from the Sven Hammond Band, and has previously worked with musicians including Maarten van Roozendaal and Mike Boddé.
