About
Winning the London International Piano Competition at just 18 years old set Behzod Abduraimov on a fast track that few pianists his age could have anticipated. Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, he studied with Stanislav Ioudenitch at Park University's International Center for Music, and The Independent called him "the most perfectly accomplished pianist of his generation." His 2009 competition performance of Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto was described by The Daily Telegraph as "the most enthralling roller coaster ride of a Prokofiev third concerto imaginable." He signed with Decca Classics and released a debut album in 2012 featuring Prokofiev, Liszt and Saint Saëns that picked up both the Choc de Classica and the Diapason Découverte. Since then he has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and dozens of other major ensembles. His 2016 solo debut at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium, one of the most prestigious stages in classical music, made him one of very few young artists to reach that milestone.
