About
Bleghfest is a metal festival born out of a genuine gap in the scene. When Bar American, the go to spot for metal and hard rock fans in Middelburg, shut its doors after the pandemic, Owen Aza Glansdorp and Lorenzo Meeuws decided something had to fill the void. In 2022, backed by the Young Leaders programme of Welzijn Middelburg, they launched BLEGH. What started as spinning records at metal shows and connecting venues with bands quickly built momentum. A sold out night at De Croone with over 200 attendees was an early sign that the Middelburg metal community was very much alive. Twelve successful pub nights followed, and that energy eventually fed into the first edition of Bleghfest.
