About
Boris Giltburg announced himself early when, at just 13, he took the Newport International Piano Competition. That was only the beginning: in 2002 he claimed the top prize at the Paloma O'Shea Santander International Piano Competition in Spain, performing the Bartók Third Piano Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra, and in 2013 he won the Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition in Brussels, one of the most prestigious classical music contests in the world. Since then he has built a busy concert career playing with major orchestras including the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and the Israel Philharmonic, working alongside conductors such as Marin Alsop, Mikhail Pletnev and Christoph von Dohnányi. His repertoire leans into the grand Romantic and 20th century piano canon, and he is known for a Beethoven lecture series covering all 32 piano sonatas.
