Bryson Tiller put Louisville on the R&B map in a serious way when "Don't" started circulating on SoundCloud in late 2014 and quickly became one of those tracks everyone seemed to know. The song peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and landed him a deal with RCA Records, setting the stage for his debut album Trapsoul, a record that blended contemporary R&B with a smoky, atmospheric trap sound he essentially branded as "trap soul". That album went triple platinum and produced "Exchange", a Grammy nominated quintuple platinum single that remains one of his signature tracks. His second album True to Self debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in 2017, the same year he appeared alongside Rihanna on DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts", a massive hit that hit number two on the Hot 100 and went nonuple platinum. He has since kept the releases coming, with Anniversary in 2020, a self titled album in 2024, and Solace and The Vices dropping in 2025. Four Grammy nominations, two BET Awards, and the key to his hometown city round out a run that shows no signs of slowing.
