About
Cari Cari started with an unusual goal: the Viennese indie rock duo wanted their music in a Quentin Tarantino film. Drummer and singer Stephanie Widmer and guitarist/singer Alexander Köck have been building toward that cinematic sound ever since, landing tracks on American TV series like Shameless and The Magicians along the way. Their 2021 live recording with the Film Orchestra Babelsberg gives a pretty good idea of where their ambitions lie. They picked up the XA Award at Waves Vienna in 2017 and the FM4 Award at the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards in 2022, and they have played festivals from Primavera Sound in Barcelona to the Great Escape in England. Three studio albums in, with One More Trip Around the Sun arriving in 2025, Cari Cari keep pushing their sound into bigger, more orchestral territory.
