About
Dana Winner, born Chantal Vanlee in Hasselt, Belgium, has spent more than three decades building a loyal following across Europe and beyond with her warm, emotive pop ballads. Singing primarily in Dutch, she has also recorded in English, French, German, and Afrikaans, which helped her carve out a fanbase in countries like Germany and South Africa. Her 1993 single Woordenloos was a breakthrough moment, and her 1995 cover of The Cats classic One Way Wind, retitled Westenwind, became her only entry in the Dutch Top 40. Over the years she has put out a hefty catalogue, from early Dutch language albums to multilingual releases in the late 1990s. A 2016 appearance on the VTM music programme Liefde voor muziek brought her to a new audience, the same year she released both the album One Moment in Time and Puur. In 2019 she celebrated 30 years in the business with a new album and a run of theatre shows, plus a spot as a coach on The Voice Senior.
