About
DeWolff formed in Geleen, in the southern Dutch province of Limburg, and over the course of roughly two decades built one of the more impressive catalogues in Dutch rock. The trio has released two EPs and ten albums, picked up an Edison award, toured extensively across Europe, played every major festival you can think of in the Netherlands and beyond, and even set up their own record label along the way. Their sound sits somewhere in the overlap between blues rock, psychedelic rock and classic rock, delivered with the kind of raw intensity that makes their live shows something of a ritual in themselves. To mark their twentieth anniversary the band put together a special retrospective show called Full Moon Ritual, joining forces with poet and presenter Daan Doesborgh for a performance blending deep cuts, spoken word poetry and a healthy dose of distortion. It is a pretty good summary of what DeWolff are about: the music comes first, and they play like everything depends on it.
