Faouzia has a knack for making big things happen quietly. The Canadian singer, born in Casablanca and raised in rural Manitoba, broke onto the scene by racking up competition wins before most artists find a manager. She took the top prize at the Nashville Unsigned Only competition and the International Songwriting Competition in the same year, beating tens of thousands of entries across both. Her pop sound pulls in R&B warmth, electronic textures, and occasional Arabic influence, which shows up most clearly in tracks like "Habibi (My Love)". Her 2021 collaboration with John Legend on "Minefields" introduced her to a much wider audience, and the song featured on her 2022 EP Citizens alongside fan favorites "Don't Tell Me I'm Pretty" and "Puppet". She has also popped up in some unexpected places, including a feature on David Guetta's album 7 and a songwriting credit on the Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign project Vultures 1. Her debut studio album has reportedly been in the works for several years, with a string of singles hinting at where she might be headed.
