About
Gabbi Lieve builds her songs out of language first. Each one starts life as a poem, and the words end up steering the music rather than the other way around. The result sits somewhere between alternative folk and experimental songwriting, with a few neo soul touches woven in. If you like Joni Mitchell, Fiona Apple or Lianne La Havas, you'll hear where she's coming from. The Dutch singer songwriter made it to the final of Mooie Noten in 2025, and her debut EP is called In Times of Absolute Endings. That poem first approach gives her material a lyrical weight that sets it apart from a lot of indie pop and alternative pop.
