About
Cape Town duo GoldFish blend house, jazz and African music into something that genuinely defies easy categorisation. Dominic Peters and David Poole play real instruments, including double bass, saxophone, flute and keyboards, weaving them through samplers and synths rather than hiding behind a laptop. That live feel has taken them from opening slots for Fatboy Slim and Faithless to headline sets at Glastonbury and Ultra Music Festival, and their track "Washing Over Me" hit number one on South Africa's 5FM Top 40 in 2012. Commercial placements for Kia and Nike gave them wider exposure, and a 2014 Billboard exclusive remix of the Wyclef Jean and Avicii track "Divine Sorrow" showed they could move comfortably in international pop circles too. They won Best Pop at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2014, and their sixth album If Summer Was A Sound arrived in September 2023.
