About
Good Kid are a five piece indie rock band from Toronto who built a cult following almost entirely through the internet, thanks in large part to Fortnite streamers blasting their music to massive audiences. Rather than filing DMCA takedowns, the band actively welcomed it, a move that turned out to be financially smarter than monetizing through YouTube's Content ID system and earned them genuine goodwill from a generation of young listeners. Their mascot Nomu Kid, introduced on their very first song back in 2015, has become a visual signature across every release, with artwork handled by collaborator Gabriel Altrows. Their sound pulls from Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club, and Gorillaz, with the band blending indie rock with punk and J rock influences. They release music as singles first, later bundled into sequentially numbered EPs. Good Kid 4 produced their biggest hit yet, a cover of Laufey's "From the Start", and landed them a Juno nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year. They also played Lollapalooza in 2024 and toured the UK and Europe twice. In 2026 they released their debut full length album, Can We Hang Out Sometime?, to considerable fanfare.
