About
Keyboardist Anthony Farrell and guitarist Andrew Trube have been at this long enough that their songs have passed through the hands of Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, which tells you something about the quality of their writing. The Austin duo known as Greyhounds blend roots, soul and groove into a sound that sits somewhere between a late night juke joint and a well worn touring van. Their 2004 album Liberty was produced by Stanton Moore and Robert Mercurio of Galactic and features guest vocals by Ani DiFranco, a pretty striking debut statement. Since then they have kept a steady pace, clocking up ten albums including Primates on Nine Mile Records in 2020 and Greybird in 2023, the latter a collaborative record made with Tim Crane and Sam Patlove from T Bird and the Breaks.
