About
Also known as: 헤이큰
London's Haken have spent nearly two decades building one of the more distinctive catalogs in progressive metal, blending labyrinthine song structures with melodies strong enough to actually stick. Formed in 2007 by Richard Henshall, Charlie Griffiths, and vocalist Ross Jennings among others, they signed to Sensory Records and debuted with Aquarius in 2010, then moved to Inside Out Music for a run of albums that cemented their reputation. The Mountain, mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren, and the tech inflected Affinity are fan favorites, while the linked pair Vector and Virus showed the band leaning into darker, heavier territory. They have also toured alongside Mike Portnoy performing Dream Theater material in full, which gives you a sense of the circles they run in. Seven studio albums deep as of 2026, Haken keep evolving without losing the melodic core that makes them worth following.
