About
Henrik Freischlader is a German blues guitarist, singer and multi instrumentalist who taught himself everything from drums to Hammond organ entirely on his own. His sound sits squarely at the crossroads of blues, rock, soul, funk and jazz, with guitar playing shaped by influences like Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan and B.B. King. He has shared stages with some serious heavyweights, opening for Joe Bonamassa, B.B. King, Gary Moore and Johnny Winter. Freischlader runs his own label, Cable Car Records, and has a knack for doing things himself. His 2009 album Recorded by Martin Meinschäfer saw him play every instrument, write every song, produce the record and release it all under his own steam. A sequel to that album arrived in 2022, and 2023 brought Little Big Beat, a studio live session released on LoEnd Records. His friend Joe Bonamassa even dropped by to play lead guitar on the title track of Still Frame Replay, which says a lot about the company Freischlader keeps.
