About
Het Zesde Metaal is a Flemish group from Antwerp fronted by singer Wannes Cappelle, and in Belgium they are about as established as a band can get. Songs like Ploegsteert, Naar De Wuppe and Tid Van Ton have become genuine classics, while albums such as Nie Voe Kinders and Calais earned the band widespread recognition. Their sixth album, Het Langste Jaar, along with its predecessor Skepsels, marked a significant breakthrough in the Netherlands, with De Volkskrant awarding Het Langste Jaar four stars. Club shows in Amsterdam and Utrecht sold out. The band's live setup can also take a more intimate form, with Cappelle performing alongside cellist Frans Grapperhaus under the name Even tussen ons, drawing from across the full catalogue.
