Howie Day built his reputation the hard way, spending years on the road as a solo act, looping guitars and vocals live with samplers and effects pedals to fill out his sound without a band behind him. That grind paid off: his self released debut Australia earned him a loyal following and a deal with Epic Records, and the follow up Stop All The World Now eventually went gold off the back of "Collide", a ballad that crept onto TV shows like Grey's Anatomy, Scrubs and Cold Case before going platinum with 1.5 million downloads. "She Says", a fan favourite dating back to a 1998 demo, rode the same wave as a follow up single. Day recorded Stop All The World Now in London with producer Martin "Youth" Glover, with co writes from Kevin Griffin of Better Than Ezra and Jay Clifford of Jump Little Children, and ex Verve bassist Simon Jones in the band. Later work includes the EP Be There, the album Sound The Alarm, and Lanterns, a crowd funded record featuring Aimee Mann on backing vocals.
