About
Hypno5e have been pushing the boundaries of heavy music since forming in Montpellier in 2003, blending avant garde metal with post metal and progressive textures in ways that rarely sit still. One of their more distinctive quirks is their multilingual approach: lyrics tumble between French, English and Castilian Spanish, sometimes within the same record. Their catalog runs deep, from the 2007 debut Des Deux l'Une Est l'Autre through to the ambitious Alba, Les ombres errantes, which arrived with a full accompanying film directed by frontman Emmanuel Jessua. They have shared stages with Gojira and the Ocean Collective, touring both France and the United States. Their 2023 album Sheol shows a band with no interest in standing still, still finding new corners to explore in a sound that is dense, cinematic and genuinely hard to pin down.
