About
Chicago saxophonist and composer Isaiah Collier has been quietly building one of the more compelling catalogs in contemporary jazz, releasing six albums between 2018 and 2024. His work with his band The Chosen Few pushed deep into spiritual and cosmic territory, with album titles like Cosmic Transitions, Parallel Universe, and The Almighty signaling just how seriously he takes the tradition of exploratory, soul searching jazz. Downbeat Magazine named him one of the top 25 rising jazz stars in 2024, and it's easy to hear why. In 2025 he performed a tribute concert marking the 60th anniversary of John Coltrane's A Love Supreme, a nod to the lineage he's clearly drawing from and doing real justice to.
