About
Lowertown is an Atlanta bred indie rock duo, Olivia Osby and Avsha Weinberg, who came up through the DIY scene before signing with Dirty Hit while still in high school. Their sound pulls from indie rock, folk, and experimental pop, with Stereogum comparing them to Phil Elverum and Alex G. Lyricism sits at the core of what they do, something that comes through clearly on their debut album I Love to Lie from 2022. Since parting ways with Dirty Hit, they self released the EP Skin of My Teeth in 2023 and have kept building a devoted following through online platforms and steady touring, including runs supporting Wet Leg, beabadoobee, and Wednesday. Their latest project, Ugly Duckling Union, goes beyond music into visual and interactive media, built around a fictional character named Dale. A track called "hey, who really cares" surfaced in May 2025, suggesting they are not slowing down.
