About
Named after William Braden's book The Private Sea: LSD and the Search for God, this San Francisco shoegaze outfit has been quietly building a cult following since their self titled debut EP dropped in 2007 on Mind Expansion Records. That record sold out fast enough to earn a vinyl reissue the following year on Deep Space Recordings. The core trio of Andy Liszt, Sophia Campbell, and Chris Fifield keep the sound thick and hazy, with Liszt leaning on a Marshall Shredmaster distortion pedal for that signature wall of noise. Output has been sparse, just a second EP called Heaven is a Place in 2016, but the band stayed active. In 2025 they signed with Don Giovanni Records, putting both EPs in front of a much wider international audience.
