About
Nienke Leone writes pop songs about the things she can't bring herself to say out loud. Her storytelling is catchy and bright on the surface, but the lyrics are brutally honest, and that mix of infectious energy and exposed vulnerability is what makes her shows land. She sits firmly in the nederpop camp. Before stepping out as an artist herself, she was a songwriter for others, with credits for Emma Heesters, Zoë Livay, Miss Montreal and Yves Berendse. Her songs include Emma Heesters' 'Alles Wordt Beter' and the Gooische Vrouwen anthem 'Spijt is voor Later', and the work earned her several Buma Awards. Her first EP followed in 2024, along with 25 Popronde shows and support slots for Krezip and Ruben Annink. The second EP, 'Wegwerpliefde', came out in September 2025, with a sold out release show at Rotown.
