About
Ripe built their reputation the hard way, through relentless live performances and a viral moment on Reddit before most people had ever heard a note from a studio album. The Boston formed, Los Angeles based funk and alt pop band spent years releasing just a handful of songs, letting their live show do the talking, until their debut Joy in the Wild Unknown dropped in 2018 with Cory Wong behind the board. Their sound pulls from funk, jazz, R&B, and pop in a way that The Boston Globe once tagged as neo soul, and frontman Robbie Wulfsohn sums up their whole ethos as chasing that one peak moment in a song when everything breaks loose and bodies start moving. Their second album Bright Blues came out in 2023 on Glassnote Records, and they have since kept the momentum going with a third record, Play the Game, featuring collaborations with Lawrence and Cory Wong.
