About
Soft Loft is a Swiss collective from Brugg built around vocalist and lyricist Jorina Stamm, and their whole thing is making indie pop that holds vulnerability and euphoria in the same breath. They describe their own sound as "indie something something", which is a pretty accurate dodge: somewhere in the mix you get melancholy, exhilarating hooks, and a feeling that's intimate and enormous at the same time. They're equally at home in a sweaty basement as on a big festival stage, and that range shows. The band released their debut EP In Case You Get Lonely and their first album The Party And The Mess, both produced by Grammy nominated Gianluca Buccellati. Without heavy promotion, those records landed them airplay on KEXP and BBC 6 Music and festival slots at The Great Escape, Reeperbahn Festival and Montreux Jazz Festival. Their self produced EP Modern Roses sharpened the sound into something more direct and emotionally raw, and the album Throw The Dice on PIAS Recordings pushed that direction further, with the single Caught laying out their take on risk, growing up and the tension between safety and the unknown.
