About

Sticky Fingers built their reputation the hard way. The Sydney outfit started out playing reggae driven pub sets and famously set up a rogue DIY stage in a mate's backyard after getting rejected twice by the Newtown Festival. That stunt caught the ear of producer Dann Hume, and the rest followed fast. By 2016, their third album Westway (The Glitter and the Slums), recorded mostly in a single month at a studio in Thailand, debuted at number one on the Australian Albums Chart. The band describes their sound as a melting pot of reggae, psych and bourbon, with nods to The Clash, Pink Floyd and the Arctic Monkeys all audible in the mix. Their run has not been without turbulence. A very public hiatus kicked off in late 2016 following serious allegations against then frontman Dylan Frost, who publicly acknowledged struggles with alcohol addiction and mental health. They came back in 2018, released the album Yours to Keep in 2019, and followed that up with Lekkerboy in 2022. Frost stepped away from the band in 2025 and has since been replaced on vocals by Claude Bailey. The group also put out a book in 2023, Belly of the Beast: On the Road with Sticky Fingers, giving fans a look behind the scenes.
