Sylvan Esso

About

Sylvan Esso is the Durham, North Carolina duo of singer Amelia Meath and producer Nick Sanborn, and their knack for pairing Meath's warm, hooky vocals with Sanborn's electronic textures has made them one of the more distinctive acts in the indietronica space. Their debut single "Hey Mami" was named Paste Magazine's number one song of 2014, and the self titled debut album followed on Partisan Records, cracking the Billboard 200. Their second album, What Now, pushed things further and scored a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album. The live album WITH, recorded with an expanded ensemble of collaborators, shows another side of the project: lusher, more orchestrated, and genuinely warm. Their fourth album, No Rules Sandy, landed in 2022 on their own Psychic Hotline label.
