TEMIC brings together members of Devin Townsend, Haken and the Neal Morse Band, and the combination shows in their music: progressive metal that is simultaneously heavy and melodic, built from electronic layers, dark lyrical themes and cinematic bursts of sound. Their debut album Terror Management Theory reached the top of the Dutch charts and climbed into the top 15 of the worldwide iTunes Metal chart, a strong opening statement for a band pulling from such well credentialed corners of the prog world. A follow up record promises a heavier and more sombre direction, suggesting the group is pushing further into the darker end of their sound.
