About
Also known as: Get Up Kids, The Get-Up Kids
The Get Up Kids built the blueprint that countless emo and pop punk bands followed. The Kansas City five piece broke through with their 1999 album Something To Write Home About, an instant classic that went on to influence acts like Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday. Over three decades into their career, they have grown alongside their fanbase, and that shift shows in their music. Their album Problems leans into themes of nostalgia and parenthood with no apology, proof that the band has aged into their subject matter rather than away from it. Few acts from that late nineties emo wave have stayed this vital this long.
