About
West Lothian's The Snuts made an immediate mark when their debut album W.L. shot straight to number one on the UK Albums Chart in 2021, making them the first Scottish band to debut at the top spot since The View back in 2007. The record is packed with singles that had been building a fanbase for years, including the emotionally direct "Somebody Loves You", released in support of the Scottish Refugee Council, and "Elephants", which topped the iTunes Singles Chart on the day it dropped. Their sound sits firmly in the guitar driven indie rock tradition, with nods to the Libertines and Arctic Monkeys woven through their catalogue, but they have always been clear that not sounding like everyone else is a core ambition. By 2022 they were back with new material, collaborating with Rachel Chinouriri on "End of the Road" and announcing their second album, also called Burn the Empire.
