The Watch is an Italian symphonic rock band built around a deep devotion to the early Genesis catalogue, specifically the era spanning roughly from Trespass through Duke. That focus on the Peter Gabriel years is no accident: vocalist Simone Rossetti has noted that his voice sits naturally in the range of both Gabriel and Phil Collins, making the material feel like a genuine fit rather than a forced tribute. The band took that commitment to a full album level on tours in 2010 and 2014, performing Genesis records such as Selling England by the Pound and Seconds Out in their entirety. Rossetti has been open about his feelings toward the band he covers, expressing regret at Gabriel's departure and Steve Hackett's exit, and admitting he lost interest in Genesis after Abacab. For him, keeping this music alive is about preserving something real for fans who grew up with it.
