About
Three sisters, Kucha, Zeimani and BG Womack, make up this Los Angeles soul trio, and the music runs deep in the family. Their parents were the duo Womack & Womack, who had a number one hit with Teardrops in 1988, their grandfather was Sam Cooke and their uncle was Bobby Womack. They grew up singing behind their parents on stages and in studios around the world. After years of personal loss and a frustrating stretch in the music industry, the sisters found their way back to music at Daptone Records, the label home of Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley. There they worked with producer Gabriel Roth, also known as Bosco Mann, on their self titled debut album. The record leans on classic, retro soul production, with each sister taking a turn on lead vocals before their three voices blend into one tight, sisterly harmony.
