Anders Trentemøller has spent the better part of three decades quietly building one of the most distinctive catalogs in European electronic music. The Copenhagen based multi instrumentalist and producer started out in indie rock before pivoting toward electronics, and his 2006 debut The Last Resort drew from downtempo, minimal techno, and darkwave in a way that felt genuinely cinematic. His remix work has touched everyone from Röyksopp and The Knife to Franz Ferdinand and Depeche Mode, the latter even took him on tour as a support act during their Delta Machine world tour. Film directors noticed too, with Oliver Stone, Pedro Almodóvar, and Jacques Audiard all using his music. Over six albums he has steadily pulled toward alternative rock, shoegaze, and ambient territory, collaborating with vocalists like Kazu Makino of Blonde Redhead and Jehnny Beth along the way. His 2013 album Lost earned silver certification across Europe, and his 2011 Coachella set was called one of the biggest breakouts of the festival by NME. His sixth album Dreamweaver arrived in 2024, written, produced, and mixed entirely by Trentemøller himself, with vocals from Dísa Jakobs.
