About
Unearth have been flying the flag for metalcore since forming in Boston in 1998, and over eight studio albums they've refined a sound that blends punishing riffs with melodic death metal hooks in a way that still feels distinctly their own. Guitar World called their debut full length The Stings of Conscience groundbreaking, crediting them as forefathers of metalcore for fusing melodic licks with aggressive riffing in a manner both striking and original. That reputation only grew with The Oncoming Storm and III: In the Eyes of Fire, the latter cracking the top 40 of the Billboard 200 after being recorded with producer Terry Date. Signed to Metal Blade Records since 2003, the band has shared stages with Slayer, Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God and Dimmu Borgir, and toured relentlessly across the US, Europe and Japan. Their 2023 album The Wretched; The Ruinous shows they haven't lost a step, still delivering the kind of melodic metalcore fury that made them a genre cornerstone in the first place.
