Few Dutch songs have had the staying power of 'Stil in mij', the 1994 single that put Van Dik Hout on the map. The Den Helder pop rock group released their self titled debut album that same year, and it went platinum in the Netherlands, earning them both an MTV Local Hero Award and a Zilveren Harp. Listeners kept voting it the best Dutch language single ever in 3FM polls throughout the early 2000s. Over the years Van Dik Hout built up a solid catalogue of albums, mostly written by the Assorgia and Buitenhuis duo, and played major festivals including Pinkpop and Lowlands. They also teamed up with Acda en de Munnik to form De Poema's, scoring a number one hit in 2001 with 'Zij maakt het verschil'. The band has kept busy in recent years, releasing the single 'Elk Verloren Uur' in 2023 and performing a live set at AFAS Live in 2024.
