Walk off the Earth built their following on YouTube with a knack for turning pop songs into something genuinely surprising, whether that meant five people sharing a single guitar or stripping a track back to pure beatboxing vocals. Their 2012 cover of Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used to Know' racked up over 175 million views in four months and landed them a deal with Columbia Records. The Burlington, Ontario band plays a wild range of instruments, from theremin to ukulele to looping pedals, all produced in house by multi instrumentalist Gianni Luminati Nicassio. They are not just a covers act. Their original material has earned them a Juno Award for Group of the Year, a gold certification for the single 'Fire in My Soul', and a spot on the Pokémon Journeys theme song. Their sixth studio album, Meet You There, dropped in July 2021 and featured a collab with Danish group Lukas Graham. The band has weathered real loss too, with the passing of member Mike Taylor at the end of 2018, and has kept going as a leaner lineup ever since.
